How Do I Download, Install & Launch Blender#
Blender is a fantastic 3D Computer Animation tool, and not only that, it's free and open source!
This means that you can download it at blender.org/download, learn how to use it, make artwork with it and even sell the artwork that you make with it. All without ever feeling like you're breaking the rules because you didn't buy it. You're not breaking the rules. Blender is free and open source!
Blender on a Mac:#
- Download Blender at blender.org/download
- Double Click on the .dmg file in your Downloads folder
- Drag Blender to a "good spot." (If it's your personal computer, drag it to your Applications folder. If it's a lab computer, drag it to your Desktop.)
- Launch Blender by Double-Clicking on the Blender icon.
Blender on Windows:#
- Download Blender at blender.org/download
- Double click the Blender installer.exe in your Downloads folder
- Follow the installer
- Launch from start menu or by desktop shortcut
